Building the Fuselage

Section 27, Firewall
On May 27 my father and I started working on the Firewall since we did not have enough time remaining prior to their departure back to South Texas to finish all the rivets in the Mid Fuselage Ribs and Bottom Skin.
Quickly we had the Firewall assembled with clecos. Then my help left so back to a one man shop 🙁 I worked as much as possible on the Firewall during the weekends and finally got it finished except for attaching the heater vent valves that require the Biotherm 100. Besides the firewall stores nicely sitting on its face until it gets attached to a larger piece! 20 hours time.
Section 26, Mid Fuselage Ribs and Bottom Skins
Work started on Section 26 in the week of May 7th. Progress looked promising until I was selected for a three week civil jury trial, it caused havoc with ALL plans of life outside of jury duty. I enjoyed my civic duty responsibility even though it did take 3 weeks!
This particular section for some reason was hard to concentrate on with the other responsibilities at the time and so might have taken longer than needed. I finally wrapped up most of the section on May 26th when my parents came to town. Everything in the section was completed except for driving all the rivets. I have been working on that for 2 hours each day since June 3rd and hope to finish it June 5th.
My wife and mother jumped in and helped pull all the blue plastic protective material off the fuselage parts I had laying around in the garage. I thank them for that!!!!

Almost Finished Section 25, the first section included in the fuselage drawing package. The Mid Fuselage Bulkhead construction took approximately 20 hours.
Fuselage has arrived – slow build
Thursday 10th, 2012 the fuselage crate finally arrived. My wife was able to receive the crate that day since I have been paneled as a juror in a civil case for three weeks.
She had difficulties with receiving the crate since shipping company didn
Section – 38, Rudder Pedals
On Friday I received my Control Approach rudder pedal system. I spent about 5-6 hours assembling the system. Other than a couple of bushings not being the correct sizes, mostly had to file or grind to the appropriate size, everything went together very well. It
