Weight and Balance

3 Hours, 15 June 2014

I performed the Weight and Balance on N815DG. I leveled the airplane for and aft along with left to right. Airplane weight in about 150 lbs more than Vans demonstrator and I expected this since I have a fully equipped aircraft. Empty weight is 1802lbs. I also did the weight and balance with the bottom pod attached and it is 1857lbs. Overall the W&B looks good with the exception with me flying single I will need a pretty heafty balast in the back to keep the CG correct.

WEIGHT ARM
RIGHT WHEEL 658 123.19
LEFT WHEEL 677 123.63
NOSE WHEEL 445 105.83

Dropped string from the wing leading edge and have the following:
Left Wheel 123.63 aft
Right Wheel 123.19 aft
Front Wheel 50.82 aft

First fly in visitor to our new home

Saturday Jan 4th, 2014 we had our first fly in visitor to arrive. Dean Conner a good friend and co worker flew his recently purchased Piper Turbo Arrow in for a visit. The conditions that day were not the best but he did a great job at landing and takeoff with the gusty crosswind that day.

Casey wanted to climb inside the airplane and NOT leave it. I started to cry when Dean was leaving and Casey really wanted to go for a flight. Honestly I did too but the condition just did not lend itself to joy rides around the pattern so I never asked.

New Home Purchase

In May 2013 we purchased a home located on Polly Ranch Estates (7XS0), an airpark community that was started in 1973. It a great little place for the kiddo to grow up and for us to house the RV10 and boat. We will go through the process of making the home ours and likely install new windows, paint the rooms along with new carpet.

Below are some pictures of the RV10 move to the new home. We did not actually move into the new home until late June once we sold our former home. The RV10 went first since we needed to clean out the garage to start the moving process.

The move with the RV10 went well and had absolutely no issues. I did install the cabin cover for good along with the pre attached overhead console and installed several panels to make the airplane “road” ready.

The wings were moved the next weekend after the RV10 made it way across town, 10 mile trip.
